Back to school clothes for Kiki & Almut

It's that time of year, schools are back in session and the girls needed some trendy new clothes.  They just got their ears pierced at The Doll Cradle.  I used patterns purchased on line at www. Libertyjanepatterns.com  for all the items they are wearing.   Pleated skirt, Bubble skirt, Trendy tee and Slouch jacket.

Modified pattern.....Dress into a top.

Modified a dress pattern I purchased from BunnyBear to make this top. The 1930's Garden Dress. I had made a pair of yellow pants and was looking for a sweet, feminine top to go with them. I was very pleased with the BunnyBear pattern. The top fit perfectly without any adjustments. Their instructions were clear and easy to follow. I've added a link to their website and another link to the Garden Dress page. Hoping to work on making the actual dress soon.

"new" Summer fashions for the girls

I purchased the patterns for the tops (online) at LibertyJane patterns.  The short sleeve top was made from the Summer Breeze pattern by Doll Tag Clothing the Bandeau top done using a Liberty Jane pattern.   I used a pattern from "Love to Dress UP" for the capris.

Time to sew...

I have the next 5 days off and I'm hoping to spend some of the time at my sewing machine making more AG outfits to give to the girls when they visit in August.  This morning, I began making several halter tops using a pattern I bought from www.libertyjanepatterns.com/ .  I bought a T-shirt on sale at Kohl's.   It's a berry and white stripe knit fabric.  I purchased a size 3X to maximize fabric yardage,  pre-washed it and cut it apart to make doll clothes.  I should be able to make 8 - 9 halter tops from one 3X shirt.   Once those are done,  I will make white crop leggings to go with the tops from another LJ pattern.

Using the Mini skirt pattern and the T-shirt pattern from http://libertyjanepatterns.com/ I was able to whip this outfit up in no time.  Cute denim skirt with double stitching details and working pockets.  The lavender knit top velcros close in the back.

I found a free pattern for this dress at http://www.oliverands.com/blog/,   It's called the "Pop Over Dress".  Easy to make.  I shortened it to make a mini dress version
